Origen Test’s follows a robust process led, multi stage approach to Test Design that delivers relevant test items in an effective test structure.

Skill Identification
The first stage in the design process is the skill identification level. At this level, the concern is to isolate the distinct skill sets needed in a selected candidate and also to understand the relative weightage of each skill in the overall assessment of the candidate

Test Plan
Once the skills have been identified and weight ages assigned the focus shifts to designing a appropriate Test Plan that would specify
1. Whether the test should be planned as one of “Selection” or of “Completion”
2. The Number of questions (test items) to be used
3. The Level of Difficulty to assign to the test
4. The Sectional plan for the Test
5. Whether time limit need to be specified

Test Item
Once the Test plan is in place, the specific test items are selected out of an extensive test item databank. The Test databank is regularly updated and individual test items are analyzed to ensure their salience. Creation and validation of all test items is done internally for each and every test developed by Origen Test. This is a core value add provided to clients

Score Interpretation
Once the specific test items have been selected, the scoring benchmarks are identified in the form of an ideal score. The ideal score represents the optimal score a candidate could get given the time constraints and the Level of Difficulty of the test. Typically the score in an administered test would be lower than the ideal score. Interpretation standards for scores need to be set based on the ideal score level along with the skill level and performance benchmarks of the test administrators.

Origen Test supports a full-fledged academic team that acts as an internal resource in designing Tests for external and internal requirements. The academic team is a professional set up that uses the skills of both, full time and freelance academicians, to develop, validate and classify test items on a variety of subjects.
